The concepts of NSFW is being cleared of the Internet under the false pretense of children’s safety when it’s really about the people in power sanitising for advertisers and pushing evangelical narratives AND that not enough is done to keep legitimately harmful content off of spaces that minors have access to are ideas that can coexist
If Netflix Marvel really is canon with Disney Marvel (as in Daredevil and Kingpin aren’t “variants”), then I want to bring back this point I made a few years ago:
Remember how Peter Parker was complaining about how he had nothing to really deal with in “Spider-Man Homecoming”? Before he encountered Vulture, he was stuck doing minor activities like helping people with directions and stopping bike thieves. For some reason, he couldn’t find any big-name criminals to take down.
Coincidentally, “The Punisher” season 1 came out that same year. In that show, Frank Castle temporarily retired after wiping out the gangs that were responsible for his family’s murders. And the show emphasized the fact that Frank took out every single member, even the low-level guys.
So, while correlation doesn’t necessarily mean causation, it’s fun to imagine that the reason why Peter didn’t have much to do in “Homecoming” was because the Punisher killed all the major criminals in the city.
And then you have:
1) Luke Cage clearing out the major criminals in Harlem
2) Matt Murdock taking down Wilson Fisk, the biggest mob boss in NYC
Taking all of this into account, Frank, Luke, and Matt were so good at fighting crime that they didn’t leave Peter with much to do in his first movie.
Toxic masculinity that demands men pursue women, but rejects all things feminine as like an off-limits nuclear waste site is such a double-bind for them dudes. They are inventing like fakescience Alpha-Beta male gospel and negging and all sorts of nonsense when the owners manual is right there.
Women are obviously not a monolith and this doesn’t apply to all of them but thousands of them write and consume romance novels every year– a genre 95% written by women for women. It has what they want from a man right in the text. It’s also a vast genre with every kind of story and some excellent writing and gems in it once you get past your own internal bias.Â
And every one of them has some version of what women want. It’s not that hard, there is literally no mystery there. But men can’t read romance novels without feminizing themselves and they can’t figure out what women want until they take an interest and ask questions. So here we are.

cannot stand green bitches whose entire agenda is to shame ppl, oftentimes the poor/‘working class’ and ppl of color, and blame their every action instead of directing that energy at corporations.
poor single mothers of color driving their kids to school and grabbing a burger for $2.50 aren’t the cause of environmental ruin and they’ve never been. maybe instead of ostracizing communities that are already marginalized as it is for not having the same options as you, stop buying brown child labor quinoa, educate yourself on why veganism is nowhere near the most affordable cruelty-free dietary option, and for god’s sake start going after corporations instead of poor poc trying to survive.
